Dr. Kim Thomas Smith is a visionary leader, community advocate, and ordained minister, passionately transforming lives across Henry County. She serves as Executive Director of Samaritans Together of Henry County, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing critical financial assistance to families in crisis. Under her leadership, this all-volunteer organization has distributed over $500,000 in rent, mortgage, and utility support, offering a lifeline to families navigating unemployment, underemployment, fixed incomes, or unexpected hardships.

Dr. Smith’s leadership philosophy is grounded in service, integrity, and empowerment. She strategically transitioned Samaritans Together from a paid staff model to a fully volunteer-run organization, ensuring that every dollar goes directly to families in need. Her compassionate approach fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence, inspiring her team of 20 dedicated volunteers to go above and beyond in serving the community.

Known for being results-oriented, self-motivated, and strategic, she integrates these skills seamlessly into her nonprofit leadership.

Dr. Smith holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Divinity, and a Master of Arts in Christian Studies from Luther Rice College and Seminary. An ordained minister, she leads with a servant’s heart and embodies the wisdom of Mahatma Gandhi:
